the Hadish Palace

This photo is related to the Hadish Palace in the Persepolis complex. The Hadish Palace was built by the order of Xerxes and is known as his private palace. This palace is located on the highest part of Persepolis, and due to its height, it was given the name Hadish (which in Old Persian means “high place”). In this image, the remains of the doorways and columns of this palace can be seen. The Hadish Palace was one of the sections that suffered the most damage in the great fire of Persepolis.
